General Terms and Conditions for TEF test

The TEF test (test d'évaluation du français; test to assess fluency in general French) is offered by the Paris Chamber of Commerce (Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de région Paris Ile-de-France (CCI-PARIS-IDL)). The Language Center of UZH and ETH Zurich (“Language Center”) is an official test center for the TEF test.

Enrollment

To take a TEF test at the Language Center, you must register online via the Language Center website within the enrollment period. The enrollment closing date is listed in the test description. Your enrollment is binding as soon as you receive a confirmation email from the Language Center.

Withdrawal

Withdrawals that occur following an enrollment are free of charge only if they are made before the enrollment closing date. The enrollment closing date is listed in the test description. Withdrawals must be made in writing by letter or email addressed to the Language Center Secretariat. Failure to pay the test fee, or partial payment of the test fee, do not constitute a withdrawal.

If you are unable to attend the TEF test due to an illness or accident, you are obliged to inform the Language Center Secretariat as soon as possible in writing, by letter or email and to provide a medical certificate. Test fees are not reimbursed. The Paris Chamber of Commerce (Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de région Paris Ile-de-France (CCI-PARIS-IDL)) decides on a case-by-case basis whether or not the fees can be transferred to the next test session. If they decide to transfer the fees to the next session, you must re-enroll via the Language Center website for the test session offered by the Language Center in the following semester. A second enrollment will not incur any fees. The official TEF certificate is issued only if the test fees have been received in full.
